The Haps At the Bazaar!

As usual... it's been pretty busy around here. I have, however, been lucky to work on some minis! I remade my donuts and finished up those three pies! Here are some shots! The first image is a work-in-progress.

After adding some icing, sprinkles, and "sugar" - the donuts were ready for some glaze! I have taken everyone's suggestions and written them down. I haven't had time to experiment with new products these past few days, so I just picked up some Sculpey Glaze and it's working great! When I have more time I will try some other things- just for fun! :)

I figured I would take advantage of having to make another batch of donuts and try something new. As you can see, I made some sugared donuts! When I went to the apple orchard the other weekend, they were selling donuts that had been covered in sugar and I just KNEW I had to make something similar in miniature.

Here are my pies with some glaze on them! Apple, pecan, and pumpkin pies! Yum!

I did have a chance to play around with the cupcakes some more! These have a candy corn wrapper! :D Now they need to be frosted!

On a personal note, I have my last driving lesson today! Yayyy! Then I will probably practice for a couple weeks in my parent's car and then go for my license! :D I am also doing an interview for Amelia over at minifoodtutorials! It'll have bits and pieces about how I started with miniatures, my working preferences, and a couple tips! I will let ya'll know when it is posted! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Jack O'Lanterns, Pumpkins, and Candy!

If it isn't the warm colors or the cool crisp air that I long for, it's the sweet potato and pumpkin spice concoctions along... with cozy clothes! And THEN throw Halloween and Thanksgiving in the mix and I'm done. Just done! Oh! And my birthday! All of these are reasons that I love Fall. There are plenty more... but I already have a ton to share with you guys, so I will stop there!

I have been ~super~ busy this week! I knew I wanted to go ahead and get a jump-start on Halloween/Autumn minis... but I had no idea how inspired I would actually get! Take a look at what I have been working on!

***Oh, and if you are interesting in purchasing any of these items you can find them in my Etsy shop! Everything in the following post has been listed!  ***

Pumpkins!________________________________________________________

So far I have 4 sizes of pumpkins. They range from about a quarter of an inch to over an inch. I have also been playing around with multiple colors... At the moment I have plenty of white and green pumpkins.

This is my first time making listings like this... where I take pictures of a group of items and then label the different styles/items. Does anyone out there have any advice for doing this? I would hate for someone to get confused between the listings!

Candies!__________________________________________________________

As some of you may know, I am slowly trying to build up a large variety of candy. Not only for Halloween, though! I would really love to build an entire candy shop display. *flashbacks from childhood, anyone?*

Here we have chocolate bars (partially inspired by those of Stéphanie Kilgast of PetitPlat), jawbreakers, caramel creams, gummy worms, saltwater taffy, and chocolate malts- all of which are childhood favorites.

Not only do I find making miniature candy highly meditative... it's quite nostalgic. I remember eating on jawbreakers for days, competing with the neighborhood kids to see who could get to the center first... and always finding caramel creams in my uncle's candy dishes... and being treated to saltwater taffy on trips to the beach and the mountains.

Jack O'Lanterns!___________________________________________________

They'rrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeee backkkkkkkkk! With a twist!

These are only the first of many to come.... I thoroughly enjoy making these little guys! Right now I have 4 medium green, 4 medium white, and 1 large green jack o'lanterns. What do you guys think about the new colors? Personally, I am starting to prefer the white and green pumpkins of the oranges ones... but hey, that could be because they are new! :)

Like I said, all of these items have been listed! They will all be added to the new Autumn 2013 section in my Etsy shop! :)

Thank you guys so much for stopping by!

P.S. I'm going to spend the weekend relaxing with some family out of town! Probably going to take just enough supplies to work on something while I am there! How are you guys spending your weekend?

Hey, guys!

Well, as you all can see, I am back home! But not for long! I am leaving this weekend to go spend some time with my Nanny (grandmother). But don't worry, I am taking my work with me!

First, before I go any further, here are the details on the give-away!

This one is simple!- here is the deal!

All you have to do to be entered in this give-away is leave a comment on this post letting me know what you were for Halloween! If you didn't dress up, then let me know what you would have liked to dress up as! (or make something up, I won't know! :D )

There will
be 1 winner announced in 1 week, on November 14 around noon!

The winner will receive 1 jack o' lantern, 1 jar of Halloween jelly beans, 1 packet of loose candy corn (which I forgot to mention in the flyer, but it is shown in the image), 1 set of assorted Halloween doughnuts, 1 special give-away coupon for 25% off, 2 packets of candy corn, 1 packet of jelly beans (an item I didn't get around to making for my shop, but have 1 to let you have!), and also a random Halloween Celebration cake!

PHEW! *wipes brow* Now THAT'S a lot of stuff for a give-away, right?! (It's over $60 worth of items) Well I hope you enter! May the odds be ever in your favor! (heehee) Remember! ALL you have to do is leave a comment on this post, you don't have to share this post! But you can if you would like! :D

OH! Also, you can enter on my Facebook page and deviantart if you follow me on those places!

As for the updates...

I am currently making plans for Christmas minis! I have a lot in store and I want to try and do even MORE for Christmas than I did for Halloween. I am just SO unorganized and I tend to get distracted easily. BUT THIS TIME I have a plan! I am making detailed sketches and plans. I think you guys are really gonna love this stuff :D

Well that is all for now! I will be back soon with... something! Haha! Please feel free to enter my give-away! You don't have to post anything on your own blog or anything like that, but feel free to let others know about this!

I hope you have a blessed day!

More Jack O'Lanterns!

I made some more jack o'lanterns! Heehee... (as the title suggests. silly me!)

I wanted to experiment a little for this round of plump orange jacks! I tried some different shapes, sizes, and faces!

This little guy was one of my favorites. I love his mouth! I am proud of how straight I kept the lines for his teeth. I thought he looked kinda scared!

He has already been sold!

And then there is THIS guy. He just looks grumpy. Or evil. Or both. That big grin makes it hard to tell. This pumpkin has been sold already as well!

Another favorite! Silly Vampire! I love giving them vampire teeth! Is makes them more... fun! I haven't made one look like an evil vampire yet... I like them kinda goofy :D :D :D

Haha! He, too, is already sold. I am so surprised at how fast these guys are flying out the door! I am also SO SO happy! With the rut I had gotten myself into for the summer I was getting discouraged!

:3 This. It just looks so adorable! It's like a baby jack. Tehe. Makes me giggle. This little guy is still available! Grab him quick if you are interested! Listed here.

Another experiment! I liked how my stacked jack o'lanterns turned out SO MUCH, that I wanted to take that idea further. I still have plenty of sketches that I would to make reality, but this was my first attempt.

They all look happy, but the middle one seems to be squished! At least... that is what his face is showing. These fellas are available as well! Listed here.

Annnddd thennnn I made another candy holder thing! I really like this idea and I have never seen it in real life, but I am half tempted to carve a real pumpkin like this to see how it would work. This, too, is available! Listed here.

Well that is is for today! I need to run to the library and then to the post office! It has been a really good week! I have 8 packages to ship off! I don't think I have ever had this many to ship at once!

Have a blessed day!

Stacked Pumpkin Jack O'Lanterns (finally) Finished!

BOO! Haha! I just love the Fall and Halloween so much! It really is one of my favorite holidays! I have actually been considering leaving the Halloween section of my shop open all year round! I could just keep Halloween alive all the time!

I FINALLY finished my stacked pumpkin decorations. I actually changed a few things from the original design.

First of all, I made them in white as well as orange!

You guys have seen a lot of these fellas lately, so you pretty much know most of the details.

The entire body is hollow, so he is very light!

I am really happy with how he looks! I gave each one a raffia bow around his neck and his lid comes of his head! Haha!

Now HERE is the new guy! This one is basically the same as the orange one, but there is a BIG difference.

He GLOWS IN THE DARK! When you expose him to direct light, and then turn of the lights... he GLOWS!

And here are my brooms! EEHEEHEEHEHEHE <- That was my witch's cackle. Haha!

Each broom was made from mixed media found materials. Everything was cleaned very well before I put them together!

Each stacked pumpkin, both orange and white, come with the handmade broom and hand-sewn hat! The hat was made by me as well. They have a bit of a quirky look to them, so they add TONS of character to the overall piece!

That is all for today! I am off to work on some more items! All but one of my jack o'lanterns sold already, so I am going to make a few more of them! I have a few more ideas for those and I can't wait to bring those ideas to life!

I also would like to announce that I am going to start working on Christmas items after I get over my Halloween spell! I love Thanksgiving, but I probably won't put a lot of focus on it this year.

OH! A Bohemian Bazaar turns 1 at the beginning of December! I have something really special planned for that! :) My baby is growing up! It is so strange how this feels... I REALLY do feel like a dad and I am so proud at how A Bohemian Bazaar has started to form into something I can be proud of! And it only makes this experience about a million times better since I have gained so much support!

Hugs and blessings!
