Miscellaneous Christmas Items // My Work-Space

Hey guys! I just wanted to stop in and share with you what I have been working on lately! First thing, I brought The Magnolia back out! It has been sitting in my closet for a few months now... collecting dust and peeking at me from around the closet door. I figured now would be a good time to pull it back out and get back to work on it!

I also started on some plates of cookies! And barrels of candies! I figured candy and cookies would be a good way to start off some Christmas miniatures!

I also did some thrift-shopping this weekend! I found two more little shelves! You can see the ones I have in the bottom left picture. In the picture on the right you can see another image of the cookies and candies.

As for me, I am slowly getting my energy back each day! I have a long list of things I want to be making, but I can't tackle the list like I want because I don't want to work myself to hard and get sick again or anything. So, things are coming along a bit more slowly than I'd like... but they are coming along nonetheless!

I hope you are all doing really well! Thanks for stopping by!

Mints and Citrus Candies // 1:12 Scale Miniature

FINALLY! I am done with my canes! Well... for now, at least. I truly enjoyed this previous week of canes. I had never devoted much time to canes- which I now think of as an art form all to itself! I'm am TOTALLY scatterbrained today! So this post if a bit all-over-the-place!

I made two groups of canes so far! Some mint ones and some citrus ones. You can find them listed in my Etsy shop, HERE.

I got a new sketchbook! I have started writing down the clay mixes I use so that I don't forget them! I have also been keeping all of my sketches for minis in this little book!

Here is a little shot of me slicing the canes! As you can see, I had to do a good bit of stretches to keep from curling into a pretzel! Haha!

Here are the end results!

I have quite a few more ideas for canes, but for now I am taking a break from them to work on other things for the holidays. So lastly, here is a teeny tiny bowl of mints for your enjoyment! I will try to be back soon with more goodies!

Thanks for stopping by!! Talk to you soon!

Making Candy "Canes" // My Work-Space

Well... Halloween is over :C  AND YOU ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!

CHRISTMAS!!

Haha, well... in the miniature world that's what it means! This will be the first year that I will be able to work on Christmas miniatures the way I have wanted to for the last few years! Don't worry, I won't COMPLETELY forget about Thanksgiving! I still have a few more Autumn minis planned, but for now I am getting started on the merriest season of them all!

For the last couple of days I have been working on candy "canes!" Not actual candy canes, but polymer clay canes. So far I have 7 canes made. I am still in the process of slicing them up (and it might take a while) so I wanted to go ahead and share what I'm working on! As of right now I have 2 styles of peppermints, lemon candies, orange candies, caramel creams, and 2 styles of rainbow candies!

I am planning on using these for small packets of candies, as well as decorations for gingerbread houses! But for now... they are being stored in these nifty little containers.

Now it's time for me to get back to slicin' !! I have a lot to go, so I better get back to work! Thanks for stopping by!

Miniature Treat Bags!

Sooooooo.... as you guys know- I have been working on some mini candies! I haven't been able to devote the time that I initially wanted on the mini candy, so I have come up with a compromise for myself! I have taken the finished candy that I have and sorted it all into treat bags! I have a few of them listed, but first lets have a looksie!

Each bag has 18 pieces! Exactly what you see in the images above and below! I had a ton of fun making the different types of candies... and I will TOTALLY make more in the future. I have just been getting out of the Halloween mood and into the CHRISTMAS one! :D Obviously its a bit early... I know that. I just have a lot of fun Christmas/Holiday ideas that I want to make a reality. Now that I think about it... I haven't really made that many Christmas miniatures in the past.... Hopefully I can make up for that this year!

This is how you would get the treat bags if you were to buy one (or more) from my Etsy shoppe.

Besides switching my brain to Christmas-mode, I am also working on a contest for a group I am in over at deviantART. The group just reached 2000 members and the contest theme is "PARTY!" I'm gonna try to really have fun with this one!

The candy bags are listed HERE.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Using My Light-Box + More Jack O'Lanterns!

I was planning on doing another "This Week @ The Bazaar" post... but honestly it has been one of those scatterbrained weeks. I have been working on more jack o'lanterns along with more candies... and still planning some new items. But more on that later! I am currently listing a few more jacks. Take a look! All of my images today were taken with the aid of my home-made light box. It's amazing what a little foam-core and tape will do! :) As always, these jack o'lanterns can be found in my Etsy shop, HERE.

I once again made white and green jack o'lanterns... but I am starting to miss orange. So... I will most likely make some orange jack o'lanterns soon! :)

And as for my light box... I am loving it more every day! It is a but tricky getting the colors right- today a lot of the images came out kinda blue... but I don't really mind it.

It is so much fun coming up with all of the faces for these! I try to think of what I would actually carve into the pumpkin if it was real. Now that I think of it... it's been a few years since I carved an ACTUAL pumpkin! :O

These last four jacks are "medium" size. The small pumpkins above all measure less that an inch wide, but these mediums are a little over an inch. I am also working on large pumpkins that will be around an inch and a half.

If you would like to purchase any of these little guys, you can check out the Autumn 2013 section of my Etsy shop HERE

I have also been working on candies... still... See, I have a good bit of patience but sometimes I can only take SO MUCH. Haha! The candy is taking so long to get a lot made up because of how time consuming it is! Here is a little preview of the candies I have been working on. Give it a click to see it up close!

In this little collage, I have gold foil-wrapped chocolates, Halloween themed saltwater taffy, jawbreakers, small packets of gummy worms, caramel creams, and candy corn... and some spooky gummy body parts!

As for the candy I am working on right now... I want it to be in small portions like one would be giving out to trick-or-treaters... which means INDIVIDUAL WRAPPERS. So far I haven't had TOO much trouble, especially since I spent so much time last year experimenting. I am hoping to have a full post on just candy soon.

Well, that's it for today! I hope you enjoyed seeing the fruit of this week's labor as much as I did making it! Thanks for stopping by!

Jack O'Lanterns, Pumpkins, and Candy!

If it isn't the warm colors or the cool crisp air that I long for, it's the sweet potato and pumpkin spice concoctions along... with cozy clothes! And THEN throw Halloween and Thanksgiving in the mix and I'm done. Just done! Oh! And my birthday! All of these are reasons that I love Fall. There are plenty more... but I already have a ton to share with you guys, so I will stop there!

I have been ~super~ busy this week! I knew I wanted to go ahead and get a jump-start on Halloween/Autumn minis... but I had no idea how inspired I would actually get! Take a look at what I have been working on!

***Oh, and if you are interesting in purchasing any of these items you can find them in my Etsy shop! Everything in the following post has been listed!  ***

Pumpkins!________________________________________________________

So far I have 4 sizes of pumpkins. They range from about a quarter of an inch to over an inch. I have also been playing around with multiple colors... At the moment I have plenty of white and green pumpkins.

This is my first time making listings like this... where I take pictures of a group of items and then label the different styles/items. Does anyone out there have any advice for doing this? I would hate for someone to get confused between the listings!

Candies!__________________________________________________________

As some of you may know, I am slowly trying to build up a large variety of candy. Not only for Halloween, though! I would really love to build an entire candy shop display. *flashbacks from childhood, anyone?*

Here we have chocolate bars (partially inspired by those of Stéphanie Kilgast of PetitPlat), jawbreakers, caramel creams, gummy worms, saltwater taffy, and chocolate malts- all of which are childhood favorites.

Not only do I find making miniature candy highly meditative... it's quite nostalgic. I remember eating on jawbreakers for days, competing with the neighborhood kids to see who could get to the center first... and always finding caramel creams in my uncle's candy dishes... and being treated to saltwater taffy on trips to the beach and the mountains.

Jack O'Lanterns!___________________________________________________

They'rrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeee backkkkkkkkk! With a twist!

These are only the first of many to come.... I thoroughly enjoy making these little guys! Right now I have 4 medium green, 4 medium white, and 1 large green jack o'lanterns. What do you guys think about the new colors? Personally, I am starting to prefer the white and green pumpkins of the oranges ones... but hey, that could be because they are new! :)

Like I said, all of these items have been listed! They will all be added to the new Autumn 2013 section in my Etsy shop! :)

Thank you guys so much for stopping by!

P.S. I'm going to spend the weekend relaxing with some family out of town! Probably going to take just enough supplies to work on something while I am there! How are you guys spending your weekend?
