Artober Fest // Shows and Events

Hey guys! I'm at it again... preparing for another craft show! It's relatively local, so if you are in the area- come see me! Here is the event poster!

The festival is going to be TOMORROW at Trailblazer Park in Traveler's Rest, SC, from 3-9 PM. There are also going to be games and events, along with many other artists and crafters! Here is a snippet of some of the things I am bringing with me!

ALL NEW Pumpkin Trick-Or-Treat Baskets!

 Jack O'Lanterns and Pumpkin Topiaries!

Here is a little work-in-progress of some new Glitter Spider decorations!

I will also have some cake items! I am taking some mini cakes and mini cake wearables. These were also at the Indie Craft Parade a few weeks ago, and were a big hit!

Hope to see you there! If not, all the leftovers will be listed on Etsy! Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

Cookies, Pumpkins, and a Very Happy 20th Birthday!

Hello, guys! It is now 11 o'clock at night and I am about to start winding down from a FANTASTIC 20th birthday! I spent some time with some great people and I feel so blessed! :) I did manage to list some new things on Etsy! One of the newest things I have made are these quote decorations! Here is one that says LOVE! There are a few more sets further into the post!

I also made some pumpkins that have a crackled look to them... they go along with the quote pumpkins pretty nicely! :D I have four different kinds of these, as you can see below.

Here are some more text pumpkins! It's been fun putting the colors together and working with the crackle medium.

I have also made some cookies! Here are some chocolate chip cookies! I love chocolate chip cookies SO MUCH. I just recently had the chance to make some real ones! They turned out awesome!

And here is another experiment! They are autumn leaf cookies!

That's all for today! I'm exhausted and I am looking forward to getting some sleep! I hope you all are doing well! I have been asked a couple times today if it feels any different to be 20 years old... and it kinda DOES. Normally I don't feel that different on my birthday, but today I felt... BRIGHTER than I normally do. I can only guess that it has to do with all of the great support I get from my family and friends- the ones in my every day life and the ones here on the internet! Thank you all so much for your support and care!

As always, if you are interested in any of these items check out my Etsy shop HERE! :)

Some Mini Baked Goods!

I am BEYOND happy to finally have some of these baked items done! Not only are a few pies done, but I have some new doughnuts to share along with a new Halloween assorted set! Take a look?!

These pies are currently listed in my shop. You can find them HERE. As for my doughnuts... I ended up making quite a bit! I flocked some with craft sand and it looks just like sugar! Yay! I then made them look like they were filled with jelly! On the right, you can see an iced version!

I also made some chocolate ones! Whenever we go get donuts, I always get at least one chocolate iced one. They are my favorite! :)

And finally, here is the new Halloween set! I wanted to have a wider range of textures this year, so I added a sugared doughnut and played around with the icing on one.

I think it looks like a spider-web! And it even has blood jelly on the inside! Haha!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I am so happy I got to make some minis this week! And I still have the rest of today and tomorrow! :) I hope you all are doing well!

Works in Progress + a Craft Haul!

Firstly, those of you that responded to that last post- THANK YOU! I have been writing down the materials everyone suggested and will soon be trying out some different glazes and glosses!

It's been pretty hectic around here lately... between taking driving lessons and keeping up with all of the normal happenings, it gets difficult to set aside time to work. Well... let me put it this way- it FEELS difficult. As I am slowly starting to learn- being your own "boss" is hard. I have to be the one to lay down the law about when I will work, what I will allow myself to be pulled away from work for, and every other little thing that comes along with running a business. It's already proving to be hard, but with with people like Stephanie Kilgast and Tomo Tanaka to look up to (who both work on miniatures full time) I know I can do it!

Anyways, my main reason for today's post was to show you what I have been working on!

Here are a few pies that I just made. They don't have any glaze yet, but I am SUPER happy with them.

From left to right, there is an apple pie, a pumpkin pie (or maybe sweet potato?) and a pecan pie. I have also been working on some cupcakes! Here are some bases. I will hopefully get around to icing them within the next day or so.

With all of the failed attempts at both cupcake bases AND pie bases- this is the first time that I am happy with them. I will soon show you what the earlier attempts looked like. I know cupcakes and pies are things that a lot of miniaturists drift towards (like cakes)... but I am starting to see why. There is such a contrast in textures, shapes, and colors- that it becomes a great exercise for finding a balance among all these things. It becomes a learning experience!

I am also making some more pumpkins! Now that I have gotten a process down that gives me some pretty realistic results- I can make more! So I bought some new paint colors to try out!

Soon I will have white, tan, green, orange, and mustard colored pumpkins! (and also some black) Yay! I know it might seem like a lot of colors... but I want to be able to provide a nice variety of colors- so that they are more realistic!

As for the rest of my haul- I made out like a bandit! I got 40 packages of FIMO for 99 cents each! I was BEYOND lucky because I was just at Micheal's Crafts by chance, when my mom pointed out the price. She asked, "Is that a good price for that?" - And I grabbed as much as I could.

You can also see in the picture above that I got some beads, a scrapbook punch, and some miniatures. I have never seen miniatures at Micheal's, so maybe this means they will soon start selling them? *fingers crossed*

I also found this SUPER cute wagon. I want to rust it up and maybe add some words to it to display some things in.

Well... that's all for today! I will be back soon so share how my pies, cupcakes, and pumpkins turn out. Thanks for stopping by!

More Jack O'Lanterns Listed!

A big thanks to everyone for ya'll's great feedback on the packaging! I am ecstatic that you all like it! :)

So, the jack o'lanterns. I just can't get enough of these guys! I love make their little faces and seeing which colors and expressions fit each one the best! Though... I think this will be the last batch of them I make for a while. And by "a while" I mean.... ehhh.... maybe a week or so. Hahaha!

I was very excited to make a mixture of white, green, AND orange this time! Though... I did run out of paint mid-ways through.

Here is a shot to show you the difference between the sizes. I now have small, medium, and large jack o'lanterns. The small ones are all under an inch wide (or tall). The medium ones are all right at an inch, and the large ones are all over an inch.

These are all available in my Etsy shop! You can check it out HERE if you are interested.

And this last image is of a little container I made using the same technique as the jack o'lanterns. It has a lid and is hollow like the lanterns, but no face. I thought this would be cute to set miniature candies in or something like that? :)

Well, that's it for today! I am off to work on some other things besides jack o'lanterns! :) Hahaha!
I hope you are all having a wondering week!
