Oh my goodness! Building this thing is a LOT of work! Fun work though! It doesn't look like I did much today, but I have been working on The Bazaar ALL day! I started of the day by gluing together this top "attic" room. Heehee... "attic." I am thinking about doing something special with this room.
And below is how it looks with that piece on.
THEN I started staining the roof. I want to put dark shingles on it, but I figured I should stain the roof JUST TO BE SAFE. I'd hate to leave the rood light brown and then have pieces showing through... I think it was a good decision. :)
All in all, I got about four layers of stain on the roof. I wanted it pretty dark, and I might do another layer if it lightens up any more as it dries. Same goes for the walls- I want the exterior to have a certain look and it will require there to be a darker base color. Don't worry, it won't look this drab when I am done with it! Hopefully I can brighten it up a bit tomorrow!
THEN I started working on the door. I was lucky enough to get a functional door with this kit. It swings open inwards, and it will do just fine for what I need it for.
I took it apart. Of course :)
Then I started staining it...
Here is a shot of it in the frame. I really like the pop of red, and I should have taken a picture of the whole house with the door on it, but I forgots. Sorry :/
I also managed to get the majority of the foundation together. When I took this next picture I didn't realize it was upside down, but that's what dry-fits are for! LOL!
Well, that's it for today! If I work any more tonight, I will be sure to take some more pictures- but I am sure it will just be more layers of STAIN. I love the look it gives... but goodness.... time consuming! OH! I will also stain the shingles tonight.
Have a blessed day!
P.S. If you know anyone who was following my old blog, but might not have got the memo that I have moved over to this one... would you mind letting them know??? I hate that people aren't seeing what I am doing because I started off with an unorganized blog. Which reminds me! I have added some tabs up at the top so that you can easily access my other things from here! There will soon be a FAQ up, so if you have any questions- ask away!
