Being able to work on miniatures again has turned me into a madman. Not only have been I been making a lot of new stuff, I have been all over the place doing so! (As the title suggests.) Here you can see that I went back and painted the rest of the brick wall. I ended up painting over ALL of the red, and I did it with white. I felt like this helped with the look i was going for. Oh! Don't mind the brick column in the middle of the house. lol. That is from the front porch because I can't find the actual posts that are supposed to go here! :O *SHAME ON ME*
Below you can see some "swatches" from the house so far. You have the brick wall, the wallpaper, and then a close-up of the kitchen floor!
TADA! I really love how this came out. I think it was all of the layers that went into it. I started off with washes of greys, browns, and cream colors. Somewhere along the way, if you look close- you can see the TINY crackles in the tile. I am going to try to recreate this look for some other things because it is actually VERY realistic and would be great for miniature pottery!
Another thing that was on my wish-list of things to try was mini crochet! :D :D :D The picture below is of the materials I am using now, but I think I will have to go down to even smaller materials if I am going to make anything closer to what I think is the right scale. (Key words- "what I think.")
And then when have the cakes! MUAHAHAHA! Okay, I know I make a lot of cakes, but I have a special places in my heart for cakes. My heart... and... my stomach. :) These are going to be bases for a line of cakes I will *hopefully* be coming out with soon. :)
And then here is the other tidbits I have been making! You have oranges, breads, watermelons, and blueberries. I am especially proud of the bag the oranges are in. It was such a random coincidence that I had the materials in the house and then knew exactly how I wanted to make the bag. The stars aligned- I would say. :)
Well, that's it for today! Thanks for stopping by! I will hopefully have SOMETHING complete soon, rather than constantly starting new things. Hehehe... what can I say? :)
