Still Here! - Updates + A Friend's Giveaway!

My sweets! How has everyone been!? I have seemed to have fallen off the radar lately, huh?

Well I honestly haven't been up to much. Life just keeps getting in the way! Between family stuff and taking photos I have been neglecting my miniature work!

BUT NO LONGER! I have been working on a few new things. Some Christmas items! :)

Here is a little image of a candy cane I made.

I have also been working on some more breads. I am always trying to make them look more and more realistic. As you can see I am trying to make some different types of bread than I normally do.

Oh! I have been trying to get some decorations together for my Christmas tree! :) I made these ball ornaments the other day. I have a few more to make still. I also am going to use this camera ornament my mom got me when we went to the mountains. AND this cabinet that Victoria sent me! I want to paint it white and make it all Christmas-y and then put it on my tree! :D

As for the house, I have been slowly getting my thoughts together for it. I have managed to collect plenty of egg cartons and I have been making some bricks from those. Here is how the inside of the house looks at the moment....

Kinda bare, huh? Haha. Yeah. I agree. I am actually going to visit my Nanny this weekend. I am staying at her house for about two weeks or so and I need to pack up my entire shop! I am going to still work on things while I am there :) I actually do this a lot when I go stay with family. All of my family members know that I work for myself and they enjoy watching me put things together. Here are some bricks I have cut!

Trust me, I have got PLENTY more to make. But this will be fine for now. I am going to assemble my fireplace before I leave for my Nanny's house. While I am there I will do the brick-work and maybe decorate it a little bit.

You will surely hear from me again within the next day or so! I will share how I pack up EVERYTHING for working away from home. I will also share how my fireplace will start off as!

OH! Here is something fun. I just entered in Natasha's wonderful giveaway over on her blog, Eat Cake Miniatures.

You have a chance to win one of her precious works! I love her perspective on furniture and OF COURSE I love her shabby chic style! I hope you all go enter her giveaway and follow her blog! She is super sweet and talented!

Until next time,

  3. Thank you for the mention Blake. I am gaga for that itty bitty candy cane! I was hoping that even if you don't win my draw I would REALLY LOVE to do a small swap with you. I've made some gorgeous bread and have a few 1:12 Christmas tree decorations and I'm sure you could use a special piece of furniture or accessories for your new WIP dollhouse. What do you think? We could wait till after the holidays if you'd like? If not no worries, I won't take it personally. That's all for now..see you in mini-land!! Hugs! xo

  4. It is good to see you back, Blake! Have missed your updatings. I surely like your little candycane!! It is very realistic looking, just like the ones I buy each Christmas by the box full. Will be most eager to catch a glimpse of your Christmas store offerings. Can't wait to read about how you pack up your workshop to go traveling from place to place. I'd need a U-Haul. LOL Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  7. Hi! This is my first time in here and I was stunned over all the beautiful miniatures you make. I was looking on the internett for tip on how to make miniature bricks (egg carton). The tutorials I found said that the bricks should be 0,6 cm wide and 1,5 cm long. Can I ask how long/wide you make the bricks? Because I think mine look very thin compared to those you make.

    Hope for an answer!

    1. Hey there! Mine are 1/4 of an inch x 3/4 of an inch... I think. I may be a little off, but it is close to that. I haven't made any in a couple months. The sizes can be different! I went to a home improvement store and there are all kinds of bricks available. It just depends on the look you are going for! :D I hope this helps, and sorry for the late reply!
