Brick Foundation!

I finally got back to The Bazaar! Yesterday was my birthday and I didn't really do much... at all...

It was a nice day, though! So I relaxed. And today I got back to work! I worked on the foundation of my dollhouse. I used egg cartons for my bricks and I am sure many of you have seen this technique, but I saw the idea on Otterine's blog. Brae is such a nice person and if you haven't seen your work, you should totally check out her blog and her Etsy!

Anyways, here is a quick run-through of what I did!

First I cut the bricks from the egg cartons. I was lucky enough to quickly collect enough cartons to cover the house foundation from friends and family.

Then I glued them to the foundation! I used a craft stick as a spacer so all my spaces were even.

That give me this...

Then I painted it! I used a base of red and I went back with a lighter color. I am still going to add some more shades of red to make the bricks look as realistic as possible.

I love how it looks! Now I just have to add some mortar (is that what that's called?) and moss!

I also want to add brick the some other parts of my house, so I have QUITE a bit more bricks to cut out. I would have taken more pictures, but it started to get dark, so I will take plenty while I work tomorrow! I actually enjoy how it is getting darker earlier here- it means I will want to go to bed earlier! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
-Blake

Oh! I will also be working on the front porch really soon! I wish I would have had it done earlier so that could decorate it for Halloween, but I don't know if it will be done in time! :C But I will certainly try!
