Creatin' Contest 2015 Entry - A Bohemian Bazaar Sweet Shoppe

Hey mini-makers! I am so happy to finally be able to share with you my entry for the 2015 Creatin
Contest! Say hello to the ABB Sweet Shoppe!

I took video of most of my process and I hope to have the video edited and posted within the next week or so! Here is the kit right out of the box. This was my initial dry fit many many months ago-

Since starting this build a LOT has happened. I moved out on my own, then moved into a new place (yep, moved twice!), got a puppy, completed almost three semesters of school, oh... and I got engaged! But more on that later! :)

Here are some quick shots of the exterior! I flipped the entire building on its front. I loved the curve of the original roof so much I decided to make it the face of my structure!

The interior features many handmade candies, as well as a scratch-built candy counter. For fun, I made some cotton candy trees! The ceiling is removable, along with the back wall. The back wall has two separate parts- the window and the lower wall. This makes is much easier to photograph all the mini details!

I learned a lot from this project! This is actually the first structure that I have entirely completed! There are still some things I will most likely change over time, as well as adding some things, but I am so very happy with how it turned out! I'll check back in later with some more detailed images and posts. Until next time, take care!

    1. Yeah! I literally thought to myself when I saw yours "Oh my gosh, I know if Brae did it too, it was a good idea!" Ahaha! And thanks so much! I think I might go back in and add some things as I have more time!

  3. It looks amazing Blake. I love the curved facia - a really clever way to make the front accesible for photos and adding the interior. Well done and good luck. Oh and congratulations on your engagement! =0D

    2. Thank you so much for everything! This was so much fun, and I am already getting excited for the next one! Ahaha! I am also looking forward to seeing what everyone else has done with this kit!

  4. AWESOME!

Turning it on its side worked beautifully, and I really like that it's totally enclosed (more realistic and less dust!)...the windows in the back wall and on the roof make my heart sing. I'm tempted to buy another kit so I can try this, but the last thing I need is another kit in my closet (eye roll).

Your color scheme is perfect, both inside and out....I like the layout...the sign...all the goodies....the cotton candy trees....ahhhh.

The only thing I need is MORE PICTURES!

    1. Thank you so much! That back window was SUCH A PAIN IN MY REAR END! But I love how it turned out! And you're telling me! I have about four kits in the closet now and I know I will be getting the kit for next year's Creatin' Contest!

And thank you so much about the colors! I was trying to be very conscious of that, and I wanted to take it even further but life just gets so crazy sometimes!

I will be posting more pictures very soon! I need to clean my apartment that way I can put the Candy Shoppe here and there for the best lighting! :)

  5. Looks great, I like how you "thought outside the box" and turned it on it's side - very creative. Great photos too. It's an awesome place to show off the candy and treats that you make.
