10 Reasons This Week Was Great!

Hello friends! It has been a GREAT week here at the Bazaar. Not only was it relaxing, but it was productive as well! Here are 10 reasons this week was great-

1. I continued to make candies!

2. I made a lot of progress on The Magnolia! The brick wall in the big room, the floor in the kitchen, and now the fireplace!

3. I prepped some canvases for miniature paintings!

4. I changed the fireplace/ inner chimney! This old chimney was a bit bulky and distracting, so I am thinking this one won't weigh down that side of the room as much, and I think it also gives the room some of its height  back.

5. True Blood began this Sunday! AHHH! I can already tell that this season will be better than the last season. The characters were back to their likable selves and the episode was directed by Bill! Awesome!

6. I began crocheting in miniature! I started off with one type of crochet thread, but have now changed to an even smaller thread. This next picture is of the new thread, and the following image is the old!

7. I also started reading Game of Thrones! I watch the t.v. show on HBO... and its wonderful... but the book... is even better. I have only read about 5 or 6 chapters, but I love it so far!

8. I tagged along with my friend, Ginia, to take bridal pictures- only to realize I had my entire camera bag EXCEPT my battery. So guess what I got to do that day? Carry everyone's bags. >_>

9. I worked out twice this week! (And hopefully I can squeeze in a third time today) I normally don't exercise, so this is a HUGE deal for me.

10. This is my second blog post for the week! Which is the ideal number for me- at least 2 or 3 posts a week. Yay!

The last two images are a preview of some other new things I am working on. The cake still needs some icing details, but I am trying to make my cakes much more detailed! The second picture is of spools of thread! And then the third image is of some berries! :D :D You can click on these pictures to get a better look!

Well, there's this week! Thanks for stopping by!

The Candy Shoppe!

It might just be me (but I am pretty sure it isn't), but doesn't candy just make you happier?! Maybe not even eating it (although that helps)- just looking at it makes me happy! All the colors! And textures! And not to mention the smells!

Well as you might can tell, I am on a candy kick! Not only have I been making a lot of candy- I have been planning a candy-themed project! I do not know the extent of how big this will be, or how long I will be working on it- but I DO know that it will involve all the sugar and chocolate and yumminess that I can whip up!

As you can see in the image above, I have been making a LOT of candy! I have been making more of the past favorites like jelly beans, candy corn, and chocolate turtles- along with some new candies! I have some caramel creams (one of my all-time favorite candies), orange slices, gum drops, various chocolates, and also rock candy!

Making miniatures isn't the easiest thing in the world- especially CANDY! Not only do they need to look realistic, but so many have to be made! Honestly, the easiest thing about making miniature candy is how easy it is to lose your mind! Haha! But that's okay for us miniature artists- we already all mad!

I am still not sure when some of the candies will be available. I want to make sure I have enough for a couple listings and I am also going to keep some for a personal project I want to do! :)

I will keep you guys posted as I work, as always!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sugar Coated Goodness!

Hey guys!

So over the last few days I have been in "rehabilitation mode." I have been laying around in my PJs while eating and drinking all the bagels and home-made iced coffee drinks I can handle. And you know what.... It's working!

Not only have I been back in the mood to create, but I sprouted some new ideas! Ideas that I won't share JUST yet.... ideas that involve a lot more planning and working, so for now~ Here is what I have been working on!

As you can recall from the last blog post I was painting barrels! Those barrels have now been promoted to holding CANDY!

These barrels are right under an inch, just to give an idea at how small the candies are. As for the candy itself- I have been making some new things! Candy orange slices! And gum drops! There are also some chocolate turtles pictured like the ones I made for Valentine's Day!

I also played around with some more chocolate! These are chocolate and peanut squares. (So... chocolate bark? Idk!?)

I've been having a ball working on little candies! So expect some more very soon! I am not entirely sure when I will have new things in the Etsy shoppe just yet (but I'm hoping soon also)!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by! I decided to not take summer classes after all, so I am going to relax for a couple months and get back to my miniatures!

I hope you all are doing well!

Chocolate Turtles Listed! + What next?

Things are up! I just listed 5 different types of chocolate turtles on my Etsy.

There are a few sets with milk chocolate turtles. I am not sure if I mentioned this in the other post, but chocolate turtles are actually one of my favorite treats. I am a HUGE fan of salty/sweet things.

There is also a set of Sea Turtles. Those little guys are sprinkled with sea salt, but makes the chocolate taste sweeter and... excuse me... I just started drooling thinking about chocolate....

Also available is a set of chocolate turtles with gold flakes! They have just enough sparkle to make you NOT want to eat them, but hey- you know you always inevitably eat them. I know I do! Haha!

And then there a few assorted sets. These have 2 milk chocolate turtles, 1 sea turtle, and 1 with gold flakes.

Each chocolate turtle was handmade by me without the use of molds- as always! :)

Oh! The pencils and erasers are all handmade by my friend, Karine. You can see more of her art here- http://kayanah.deviantart.com/

Each set comes on a golden serving board, like in the image above. And each set is packaged in a plastic covering, which I also made.

I hope you like them! I had a lot of fun making these and it makes me want to keep making more. As of right now, I have to get to my algebra homework and clean up around the apartment a bit.

I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for stopping by and checking out today's post! If you have any ideas of something I should try to make in the near future, leave it in a comment and I will put it on my list!

WIP Chocolate Turtles / Pecan Clusters

Hello everyone! I am FINALLY back to working!

To get back in the groove I started making some candies! :D These are chocolate turtles and/or pecan clusters. I call them chocolate turtles because that is just what I am used to. I also like them with almonds! Almonds are my favorite! Anyways....

Each one is handmade... I didn't use any molds because I wanted them each to be unique, just like real ones!

These are going to be "gourmet" chocolates. I love anything gourmet. Anything decadent. Anything chocolate. Haha :) The little papers with the gold foil are gong to be in the packages for these. I still have to make the small baggies these go in and I also have to add some finishing touches to the candies!

As for as my classes, they are going great! My classes on campus are both art related so I am having TONS of fun with them. I am taking Design and Computer Graphics. In Design we are cutting paper and in CG we are making movie posters! My other two online classes are kinda boring... they are Algebra and English. I like English, but it is taking a while to get used to it being online.

Well, I think that is all for now! I will hopefully be slowly picking my minis up more and more... and getting back to my house! I have collected about a dozen egg cartons by now. That's a lot of bricks! Haha!

Thanks for stopping by!
